There was one day when he stepped over the line, when I was having technical discussions with the suppliers engineers, he stepped in between me and the people that I was talking to and started spouting about how I had no authority to talk to them, that if they wanted to talk to me they had to go through him and all kinds of other BS that was just flat wrong.

I backed off and held my tongue until he backed off, and when the suppliers technical people walked away, I stepped up and got into his face. We had a little bit of a toe to toe, face to face, where I told him he was wrong, he would back down, or we were going to have problems.
