Once upon a time there was a physical therapist assistant who really loved dogs and wine shirt. This fit in very well with my lifelong habit of doing as much as possible to help others or please others without considering what I actually wanted to do. I had almost zero insight about my own preferences. I like writing. This is my hobby, it gives me something to do at night after work when I don’t feel like reading textbooks or medical journals. One response to the question of having children is that someone will be there for you as you grow old. I don’t know why I didn’t have the drive to have children, but I do know that now, in my later years, I don’t regret it despite growing health and physical needs.
